Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and dynamic Sports Information, Communications, and Digital Media Coordinator to join the Gulliver Prep athletics department. This individual will play a crucial role in enhancing the department's visibility, promoting athletic events and achievements, fostering effective communication, and providing timely and accurate sports information to various stakeholders. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, a keen eye for visual storytelling, and a solid understanding of digital media platforms, marketing strategies, and sports information management.

Specific responsibilities included but are not limited to:

  • Work with Communications to develop and implement the marketing plan for athletics including the execution of ongoing strategic communications with Gulliver Prep student-athletes, families and constituents.
  • Work with the Communications Department to create a social media plan for Gulliver Athletics.
  • Serve as the primary content creator of digital media for Gulliver Athletics social media channels.
  • Create original, engaging content that drives interest and builds traction around Gulliver student-athletes and teams.
  • Conduct video interviews with Gulliver student-athletes, coaches, and work with local media if necessary.
  • Stay up to date with developments and trends in digital/social media platforms.
  • Train and monitor coaches on brand standards and monitor content to ensure consistent applications of brand standards and messaging. 
  • Coordinate the athletic calendar for the department on Google, Veracross and other school platforms.
  • Coordinates events for the athletic department throughout the year for different programs (Sports Fair, Kickoff events, Signing Days, Senior Days, Raider Madness and Banquets).
  • Be the point-of-contact and represent the athletic department for external athletic media, as requested. 
  • Attend athletic events and/or competitions to provide live in-game updates on social media as requested by the Director of Athletics. 
  • Supervisory duties at athletic events to assist teams, officials, spectators and game management personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, digital media, or a related field.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Proven experience in communications, digital media, marketing, or a similar role.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different platforms and target audiences.
  • Proficiency in managing social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and familiarity with social media analytics tools.
  • Strong visual storytelling skills, with experience in multimedia content creation (photography, videography, graphic design).
  • Knowledge of digital marketing strategies and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Pre-Employment Requirements

Criminal Background Check, Level II Fingerprint Screening(s), and Drug screen.
