Job Summary
Gulliver Preparatory School seeks an experienced and dedicated Associate Director of Belonging and Inclusive Instructional Practices to support faculty, staff, and students in fostering a welcoming and supportive learning environment. This role focuses on nurturing belonging, promoting student engagement, and supporting faculty professional growth to ensure all students have the opportunity to succeed.
The ideal candidate will be an educator and leader with experience in instructional practice, faculty training and student advocacy, dedicated to creating an environment where every member of the school community thrives.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Student & Community Engagement
- Support student programs that encourage engagement, leadership, and personal growth.
- Collaborate with student groups, families, and school leadership to enact events and initiatives that celebrate our vibrant community and enhance school culture.
- Assist in developing programs that promote student well-being and foster a sense of belonging.
Faculty & Staff Development
- Work with teachers to implement effective instructional strategies that support a range of learning styles and student needs.
- Develop and facilitate professional learning opportunities for faculty on inclusive teaching practices.
- Serve as a resource for faculty in creating engaging and supportive classroom environments for a diverse range of learners.
Program & Instructional Support
- Provide guidance as needed about:
- how programs and instruction can be refined to ensure that a broad range of perspectives and voices are represented.
- instructional practices that support critical thinking, collaboration, confident pluralism, and meaningful student engagement.
- teaching and learning practices that emphasize high levels of access and engagement.
School-Wide Initiatives & Policy Development
- Work closely with school leadership to implement initiatives that enhance the overall student experience.
- Support efforts to gather feedback from students, families, and faculty to strengthen school culture and academic programs.
- Collaborate with school leadership to ensure policies and practices reflect the school’s commitment to student success and well-being.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in education, instructional leadership, or student support.
- Strong understanding of effective teaching strategies and student engagement techniques.
- Experience designing and leading professional development for educators.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and families.
- Passion for fostering a positive and supportive school environment.
