Job Summary

The Middle School at Gulliver Prep is seeking passionate and dedicated educators for a variety of positions within the Social Studies department to join our growing team. As part of the Middle School Social Studies Department, these positions will be responsible for teaching a combination of courses ranging from Great Civilizations, Civics and the Global Citizen, and American History. Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme is a plus! 

Qualified applicants must be able to develop and execute effective lesson plans that cover the curriculum, engage students’ interests, and promote higher-order thinking. Additionally, these roles will require collaboration with other instructors and instructors of other disciplines. Applicants must be adept at keeping accurate records of student progress and communicating with students, parents, and counselors to discuss concerns or issues.  Applicants must also be excited to participate in other responsibilities working with students outside of class including leading an Advisory Group to deliver social-emotional learning lessons as well as sponsoring a student club.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social studies, education or related field.  Master’s degree preferred. 

  • At least two years of teaching experience at the middle school level. 

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Effective classroom management skills. 

  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
