Job Summary
The Middle School at Gulliver Prep is seeking passionate and dedicated educators for a variety of positions within the Performing Arts department to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore and develop their talents in either dance, music or theater. Responsibilities include designing engaging lesson plans, fostering a creative and inclusive classroom environment, directing performances, and encouraging students’ artistic growth. The Performing Arts Faculty will also collaborate with colleagues, participate in school events, and support students in their artistic and personal development. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the next generation of performers and artists in a dynamic and supportive educational setting.
Qualified applicants must be able to develop and execute effective lesson plans that cover the curriculum, engage students’ interests, and promote higher-order thinking. Additionally, these roles will require collaboration with other instructors and instructors of other disciplines. Applicants must be adept at keeping accurate records of student progress and communicating with students, parents, and counselors to discuss concerns or issues. Experience with the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme is a plus. Applicants must also be excited to participate in other responsibilities working with students outside of class including leading an Advisory Group to deliver social-emotional learning lessons as well as sponsoring a student club.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in performing arts, education or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
At least two years of teaching experience at the middle school level.
Commitment to working after school hours (practices, performances, competitions, etc…)
Desired Qualifications
Effective classroom management skills.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
Pre-Employment Requirements
Criminal Background Check, Level II Fingerprint Screening(s) and Drug Screen.
