Job Summary

Gulliver Preparatory School seeks Academic Coaching roles for the Primary & Lower School division for grades PK-4. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Provides dynamic and enthusiastic leadership directed toward ensuring superior programs and instruction. 

  • Provides job-embedded professional learning to teams and individual teachers in a coaching framework.

  • Collaboratively plans with colleagues, creates and records curriculum and provides insight into how to teach conceptually and meet the diverse needs of students.

  • Skilled in growing and supporting programs and practices that are culturally responsive.

  • Models lessons and provides thoughtful feedback during rollout and implementation of curricula through collaborative work with teachers.

  • Works with students individually, in small groups or teaches a class, as needed.

  • Leads parent workshops and supports families with literacy and math-related questions.

  • Maintains and analyzes literacy and math assessment data.

  • Manages curricular resources (including ordering and distribution), runs pilots and adoptions of new programs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Certification and an advanced degree in reading and/or math are preferred.

  • Previous experience as an instructional coach

  • Experience and knowledge associated with various curricula (Science of Reading, Math programs: Bridges and Reveal) and standards-based instruction and reporting 

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of teaching experience at the primary-aged and/or elementary level.

  • Effective classroom management skills. 

  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
