Job Summary

Gulliver Preparatory School is seeking to hire a dedicated and qualified Middle School Faculty to finish out the 2024-25 school year covering for a leave. This position will involve teaching 7th and 8th grade Science classes.  The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in science education, a passion for inspiring young learners, and the ability to create dynamic and hands-on learning experiences that align with the school’s curriculum.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited:

  • Plan and implement engaging science lessons for 7th and 8th-grade students, incorporating inquiry-based and experiential learning methods.
  • Experience with Next Generation Science Standards is a plus, as is experience with the
  • online Amplify curriculum.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Assess student understanding through formative and summative assessments, and provide timely feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress to parents and guardians as appropriate.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and collaboration.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in curriculum delivery.
  • Other responsibilities include leading an Advisory group or club that meets once a week for connecting activities and social-emotional learning lessons.
  • Candidates must also be adept at incorporating technology in the classroom and they must embrace 21st-century teaching methods.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Education or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years teaching experience, preferably with middle school students, preferred.
