ABOUT GULLIVER PREPARATORY SCHOOL:
Gulliver Preparatory School is a co-educational, non-profit organization that was established in 1926 in Miami, Florida and offers an integrated and comprehensive college preparatory program for grades PreK3 -12. One of the largest independent schools in Florida, Gulliver Prep enrolls more than 2,200 students on four campuses. Gulliver Preparatory School’s Upper Campus is seeking a high school history teacher to join its Social Sciences Department and lead classes in government and economics for the 2020-2021 academic year. Qualified candidates will need to have advanced technological skills, understanding of curriculum mapping, and thorough understanding of the 21st century skills that helps students fulfill their potential and strong understanding of the world around them. Experience teaching in an independent school is a plus; Gulliver Prep’s expectation for faculty is based on a high degree of intellectual engagement, and includes serving as a student advisor as well supervising clubs and other activities. Gulliver faculty are expected to participate in regular professional development opportunities and collaborate with colleagues in the Social Sciences Department and across the entire Upper School. The qualified candidates must be adept at keeping accurate records of student progress and communicating with students, parents, and counselors to discuss any concerns or issues.
Bachelor's Degree in History or related Social Sciences field
Criminal Background Check, Level II Fingerprint Screening(s), and Drug screen
